Door Jamb/Loder Peak - March 13,2016
I was raised in Calgary and visited the mountains occasionally with my family for hikes and resort skiing, but my real love for the mountains began in 2013 on a nice mountain called Ha-Ling. I enjoyed the physicality of the hike, the challenge, the fresh air, nature, the people on the trail (everyone is so friendly out there!), the quality time spent with my friends, and most of all the VIEW! I couldn't believe my eyes the first time I was on top of a mountain, looking down at the town of Canmore and knowing that I got up to this unreal view using only my body and will-power. It felt amazing and I have been addicted to the feeling ever since. You could say that I have summit fever...
These posts are not trip reports that will guide you up a mountain. I haven't outlined any routes- this is my digital journal of the activities that I find myself doing on weekends and vacations. I created this as a diary for myself and perhaps some hiking ideas for others.
See my "Links" (right-hand side of the page, desktop viewer) for blogs that I really enjoy getting hiking suggestions from.
Enjoy!
