Bow Valley

The Bow Valley stretches along the upper length of the Bow River in Alberta. The hikes in this area are an approximately 40 - 60 minute drive from Calgary. Some of these mountains are still technically in Kananaskis but I have separated them for ease of categorizing hikes by area. These are basically any mountains that you can access via the Trans-Canada (Hwy 1, up until Banff National Park) or the 1A.
I have categorized Bow Valley into the following two categories:
Canmore Area - Accessed via Hwy 1 or 1A, beginning with Grotto Mountain. I have included the Goat Creek Parking trailhead area in this category since Canmore staples such as Ha Ling and EEOR start here.
Exshaw Area - Accessed via Hwy 1 or 1A, ending at Dead Man's Flats (Pigeon Mountain and Wind Ridge inclusive).
