Trailhead: Cougar Creek Parking Lot

Getting There:
Heading West on the Trans-Canada (Hwy 1), take the Canmore exit on the right (North), heading to the Silvertip resort. Follow Palliser Trail. Turn left on Benchlands Trail road. Park just before the bridge on the left along Elk Run Boulevard.


Additional Info:
Steep hiking until the heli-pad. Scree from the heli-pad to the ridge. Then there is the infamous knife-edge ridgewalk to the summit.

Mount Kindersley Attempt

Additional Info:
We went far too early in the season and were unprepared for the snow. We spent 20 minutes trying to find the trailhead, and then after a few hours of hiking, we ended up in waist-deep snow. We had a lot of fun playing in the snow but got cold shortly after.

This mountain would be a LOT easier to manage in the summer time :)

Getting There:
Take the exist of the Trans-Canada (Hwy 1) into Banff. Go through Banff Town on main street, and head towards the Banff Springs Hotel. Follow the signs to the Rimrock / Hot springs / Sulphur Mountain.

Additional Info:
We hiked up Sulphur Mountain for Mother's day and took the gondola back down. It is busy at the top, but has nice views.

Getting There:
From the Trans-Canada (Hwy 1), go south on Kananaskis Trail (Hwy 40). After Barrier Lake, Park on the left side of the road at the base of Mount Baldy. Good luck.

Additional Info:
Really fun, quick hike. Good for the shoulder season.
